There is something wonderful about 2 o'clock in the morning. The world seems so at peace, or maybe its just my little piece of it. My two men are fast asleep, I am listening the Debussy's Clair De Lune, enjoying a moment of solitude before climbing up the wooden hill to my warm bed.
Sleep well everyone, and may you too find a moment like this.

A quick layout of my little boy in his new post polo shirt. My brother and sister in law have recently returned from America and have spoiled him rotten. I couldn't resist this picture, doesn't he look adorable?. It was created for a contest on Page mags here but I couldn't decide on a font so I missed the closing date, doh!
Labels: scrapbooking
Heres my take for this weeks challenge at Charisma Cardz. THis was great fun, I love purple and green. I combined it with a challenge at Friday Sketchers. I played it a bi fast and loose with their sketch, I hope they don't mind. :o)

Heres my take on this weeks challenge at A spoon full of sugar.
This weeks challenge is to use punches and/or diecuts. I used punches to punch out the green and the blue flowers from cardstock.
Labels: Cards, challenges
This is my take on the newest sketch at Sketch and Stash. I am not sure what I think of it yet but it may grow on me. The papers are from the Doodlebug birthday boy collection.

Now I hope they don't mind but I played a bit free and loose with this weeks sketch from Just Christmas & Birthday Cards. I thought it would really suit a waterfall card. I will take some pictures of the inside in the morning as the light is really bad at the moment, with it being night and all ;o)
I have combined it with the challenge from Cute Card Thursday which is chocolate and marshmallow.
Labels: Cards, challenges
Here is my take on this weeks challenge at Cupcake Crafts. The challenge this week was " 1 layer". Other than your card blank and what ever embellishments or image you choose to add, your card must be one layer. A lot harder than it sounds. Most of us matt out patterned paper and to go without that made me feel the card was half naked!. A little lateral thinking later and I came up with this. Who says you cant doodle straight on to your card blank?!?. I found it refreshingly freeing not to mess around measuring little bits of card stock.

This weeks challenge at The Pink Elephant was a colour challenge. Pink, Green and Yellow. Well I have to say that this combination struck fear into the depths of my heart. I have and never will be a "pastel" girl, I love my colours strong and bold, so I have to say this challenge stumped me. In the end I combined this challenge with another from 2 sketches 4 You. The sketch this week is gorgeous and so full of possibilities. I dug out some green and pink ribbon that has been lurking in my stash for months and just messed around until I came up with this. I really like how it came out and I managed to use up some of the embroidery Floss that I accumulated about a year ago.

I am suffering serious creative block at the moment. I can't seem to find my mojo. It might have something to do with the massive amount of gardening my hubby and I have been doing over the last few days. We have a massive garden and the upkeep alone is serious hard work. Ah well it will all be worth it in the summer, sipping Pimms in the shade, humm who am I kidding, i'm a larger girl at best!.
I made a wonderful discovery on Saturday. Not only do I have a local scrapbook shop, it stocks We R Memory Keepers and Cosmo Cricket. Much to my hubbys disappointment and the shop owners amusement, I did a happy dance there and then!. I spent all the money I had, even turning out my hubbys pockets but I have some wonderful new papers that are crying out to be used.

This layout was created for sketch 13 at 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. I love this picture of my Granny with her three grandsons, Logan, Connor and Chris. Having a little boy, I don't get much opportunity to use pink so this was a great excuse to dig out all the girly bits and pieces I had tucked away.

I am now the proud owner of this blinkie!. I made the top 5 art Cupcake Craft challenges. Thank you for picking my card ladies.
This is my take on the newest challenge at Sketch and Stash. These papers were one of the first full set I ever bought and have been languishing in a draw ever since. They are Rusty pickles "Pirate princess".
Labels: Cards
This is my take on the newest sketch at Mojo Monday. Pink and black will always be one of my favorite combinations and I love the way this card turned out.
Labels: Cards
This is my take on the newest sketch at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards. This was a great sketch to use up the last of my Basic Grey scraps that I have been hording. Their papers are so yummy I end up keeping even the smallest scraps.

Heres my take on the sketch at Cupcake Craft Challenges. I couldn't get the circles to work for me so I changed them to this shape. Loving bright pink and turquoise at the moment and I have finally got myself a new white gel pen. :o)

Heres my take on this weeks sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I am really in love with this colour combination at the moment. I keep coming back to it so you will be seeing alot of cards like this.

I am happy.
I am happy for no particular reason. I am happy because I have a husband who loves me as much as I love him. I am happy because I have a beautiful son who has just cut his first tooth. I am happy because I have a family that love and support me no matter what I do. I know that times are hard, they are for many people right now, but right now I am happy. Broke, tired and in need of a shower but happy.
To celebrate my 100th post, I give you Bill Bailey. Hes a comedian from the west country, where I am originally from and I just love his view on England.

.... at two in the morning. I live in a smallish village and its so quiet at night its eerie. You do get a little " village of the damned " vibe sometimes.
Today was my first mothers day. I still find it strange being called a mummy sometimes, as if someone is going to tell me its all been a mistake and take my son away. I love my son to bits and I love being a mummy, its being called one that throws me a little. But hey sometimes I forget my married name and write my maiden name by mistake. I guess its just another title to get used to.
Im feeling a little too much like an adult right now so before the state of the world depresses, I am going to stand in my kitchen and eat a little chocolate trifle. Hopefully that should restore the balance.

Just your average, ordinary day in the B household. A bit of shopping (Logan is now the besotted owner of a stuffed toy rabbit), Chinese food for tea and once again I am still awake at the wee hours of the morning. In two hours time i will have officially been up 24 hours straight. This mummy business isn't all its cracked up to be sometimes.

Sometimes, like most of you I would imagine, I wonder where I “fit” in to this world. I am not a great writer or poet, I have no plans to make the world or people’s lives better and I have no idea’s that will revolutionise today’s society. I am a wife to a lazy but supportive husband, a mother to a wonderful but occasionally smelly little boy, a daughter to my loving, overwhelming parents, a sister to a brother I don’t see nearly enough and a friend to my “girls”
I am a chubby redhead in a sea of Fake blond and skinny and I really don’t mind. I love to paint my nails but often forget to brush my hair. I am half an hour late for everything and my friends love me regardless. I swear way too much and read at least one book a week. We don’t have T.V hooked up, we only watch films. I’m 5ft 3 and don’t wear heels, I am not ashamed of my height. I wear addidas trainers and jeans most of the time, when I dress up I wear 50s inspired dresses and secretly thrive on the surprised look on peoples faces when they see that I can look good if I make a effort. My husband loves me when I don’t make an effort. I brother calls me an umpa-lumpa but because I love him I like it. I never wanted to be a mother but now that I am I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I am still not sure where I fit in this world but right now I know I fit in right between my husband and son in our big warm bed. Goodnight or good morning, have a great day xx

Heaven arrived today in the shape of a large cardboard box. My Basic Grey goodies from Artymiss have finally arrived and I can't wait to get started.
This little delivery thankfully makes up for the fact that I had to go to work today. My maternity leave is creeping to an end and I had to go in to negotiate my return to work as a part timer. Not much fun but luckily the hours and days I need to work were accepted with very little fuss.
Short and sweet post for today, more tomorrow but my little boy has finally drifted off so its up the wooden hill for me. Night all.

....envy.
I really do envy those organized people who some how manage to blog every day. I really would love to but I often run out of time and more often than not have very little to say. But tonight I have the time for a little update on the wild and crazy life that I live.
I have finally finished decorating the box room, now dubbed "The Bat Cave". Dove ey on three walls and soft black on the fourth. With the black blinds and curtains is looks chic and masculine, which was what I was aiming for as it is a home office/den for my hubby.
My little boy has developed the most hideous eczema which has left him looking a little like Lizard man, but thankfully I think we now have it under control and he is now getting back his beautiful baby soft skin. We are waiting rather impatiently for him to cut his first tooth as well so lots of sleepless nights for us.
I have been scrapping like mad but making very few cards. I go through stages like that though. I was finding it heartbreaking to let go of my hard work even though they were greatly appreciated. With scrapbooking my creations don't stray any further than my book case. Pictures to follow.

This is my entry from the Scrummy Stash Café challenge blog. I actually finished it last night but due to the large amount of snow that fell on my little village I haven’t been able to post it until now.
I live in a little village on the Welsh border. I am surrounded by rolling fields filled with sheep. I moved here with my hubby about eight months ago from an equally small village surrounded by rolling fields filled with cows on the outskirts of Bristol. Because my husband still works in Bristol, I drive him to work every day over the severn crossing. There are two bridges crossing the severn in to England and just after ten this morning they were both closed due to the snow. This is the first time this has happened since the second crossing was opened. Fortunately we were able to cross it in to England this morning but after struggling our way through the deep snow to Charlies office we found out that they were closing for the day and that Charlie could go home. A little annoying as it takes thirty minutes to get to Charlies office and another thirty to get home. Charlie was thrilled though, its not often that you get an unexpected day off. We headed for my mums as she was expecting me, it being Friday. I am very glad that we did as they had closed the bridges and we had no way of returning to Wales. Even my mum’s street was barely impassable. In the end we waited it out at mums, building a snow man, making snow angels and having snowball fights. I felt like a child again. I hope that Logan gets to see snow like this again when he is old enough to enjoy it.

Some times I forget.
I saw this while tidying up before heading to bed and had to snap a picture. My husband has taken Logans shoes off and dropped them on top of his in the corner of the dining room (Oddly enough that is wear my husbands work shoes live). My husband has size 12/13 feet and they make Logans shoes seem so small.
This took me months but I have finally finished it. I still have to streach it but I am going to wait till I have decided what to do with it. I think it would look nice framed though its meant to be a cushion.
My little boy got a little devil costume from his uncle when he was born and I have been dying to frame this picture of him wearing it. I added a couple of spiders and some webbing using black card, a few eyelets and a black fineliner.
I picked up some mulberry paper flowers recently and decided that they would really perk up my wedding photos. I only have these three on display as they show how much Charlie and I enjoy eachother.

My little boy Logan is 4 months old in a few days. I feel like time has flown by. I think what makes it seam that way even more is that Logan is growing at an alarming rate. He has been checked out by numerous doctors and we have been told that his growth is perfectly healthy and that he will slow down in time. As my husband Charlie is over 6 ft tall and big with it they are not surprised. This picture was taken today. In it Logan is wearing a 6 - 9 months baby grow. He has been grumpy all evening as I have made him wear his scratch mitts. He has dry skin on his face and he keeps scratching it, poor love.

Recently while clearing up my stash of craft goodies I came across my jar of Hama fusible beads. I loved these for a while but quickly ran out of ideas after making a few coasters. A quick search on the net revealed a whole community of people creating beautiful things based on computer game sprites. I couldn't resist giving it a go myself. I may be looking down the barrel of thirty and a new mum but when I get time I still love to lose myself in a computer game.
Kirby.
Bomberman.
Kermit (Not game related but I love kermy!)
Pacman and crew :o)
Yoshi and Wolverine.
Hello Kitty.
I have a load of ideas and will post more as I finish them. I have way too many hobbies :o)

I love this picture of Logan smiling over his dads shoulder. This layout started out as an entry for a challenge at Ad This but I got distracted and never finished it in time.

I have been severely remiss and need to be punished for my complete lack of dedication to my blog. I have been desperately busy over the last few week and to be honest a little bored with the whole blogger thing.
The hubby and I have managed to paint the kitchen a lovely powder blue which looks yummy against the while detailing and really suits our 1910 Victorian house.
We also painted our bathroom a bright turquoise, it looks wonderful. This picture really doesn't do it justice.
We have also painted the master bedroom but as my hubby is asleep in it right now, no chance of a picture just yet.

I am a terrible blogger. I need to be spanked for my lack of posts of late. Even this post is going to be tragically short as my little boy has decided its bed time. Just not enough hours in the day at the moment. But I promise tomorrow to show off the few things I have managed to do since I last posted.

With a set of stamps..Shh don't tell my husband.
Starving Artistamps have some yummy new releases and If Logan was growing out of his clothes faster than I can afford them I would be reaching for my credit card right now. I guess I will just have to cross my fingers as they are giving away some of their yummy stamps as blog candy. You must check they out they are beyond cute!.

I can't seam to leave these challenges alone!. Logan has had the serious grumbles tonight and as you can see I am still awake at this ungodly hour.
The Cupcake challenge was to create a card using glitter. Well Im not a girly girl by a long shot so this one was a little harder than expected but I like what I came up with. I have had the black glittery heart in my stash for a while waiting for the right card. Sorry for the fuzzy picture, I must work out the settings on my camera.

I decided to give a challenge a go this week and I have to say i'm hooked! This is my entry for Mojo Monday. The designers there are incredible and very inspiring.

My husband and I spent along time debating what to do on new years eve. We had a baby sitter (my mum) all organized, an invite to a cosplay party and our taxi (my dad) booked. We decided that despite the fact it was new year we didn't want to go out at all. That we would spend the evening both doing something that we loved. We looked at going to the cinema and the zoo on new years day but decided against those too. In the end we stayed in. Charlie working on his art and me scrapbooking. It was perfect.

When I sit and think of the pass year, I am stunned into silence, which is a rare thing indeed. So much has happened in the space of a year that it’s a little hard to comprehend. Our nice orderly life has been turned upside down and we are loving every second of it.
We bought our first home. A big step in anyone’s book. A three bed Victorian end of terrace that still needs some love and attention thought we have managed to decorate three rooms so far. We got it for a seriously good price, all we had to do was move to Wales, which hasn’t been bad at all.
We had our son, Logan. I thought that I would never have kids so when that little blue line appeared it came as a bit of a shock. Even more so to my husband when I rang him in work to tell him. He is wonderful and beautiful and I love him, simple as that.
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. I will always be thankful for him and his ability to make me smile when I want to kill.
I feel, as does everyone at this time of year, that I should make some new years resolutions. I though long and hard over them and decided on these.
1. Clean less and scrap more. In the future my friends and family won’t care that my washing up wasn’t done straight away or that I had a pile of ironing a mile high. Share what matters to you, the rest can wait awhile.
2. Watch a new film once a month. My husband and I love to watch films but of late we have found ourselves watching the same ones over and over again. We have a rather substantial collection of DVDs and a disappointing amount of them we have never watched.
3. Finish what I start. I don’t know about you but I have numerous projects sat in bags and boxes waiting for me to finish them. Many of them would only take a hour or so to finish but I keep getting distracted by the next thing.
Those are my resolutions. Simple and achievable.
Happy new year readers….If there are any of you!
